Congratulations to several Inspired Tennis clients who won USTA matches this past weekend.

Two Inspired Tennis clients, Dave Cordrey and Cam Woliver, teamed up to take an easy victory for South Regency Tennis Center in the Dayton, Ohio Mens 4.0 USTA League. Dave, swinging his Babolat Aero Storm with Tecnifibre Black Code, and Cam, swinging his Dunlop Aerogel 4D 3 Hundred with Wilson NXT mains and Luxilon TiMO crosses, cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 victory at #1 Doubles.

In the same USTA match, Keith Neargarder took to the court with his Wilson (K) Six.One 95 with Luxilon Alu Power Rough Mains and Prince Snythetic Gut with DuraFlex crosses and came home with an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory at #2 Singles.

Dave Cordrey also won a 4.5 doubles match this weekend. Partnering with Barney Trapp, Dave won 6-2, 1-6, 1-0(7)

Nick Ciapetta and his partner continued the streak by winning a 4.5 doubles match as well. They won 7-6(5), 4-6, 1-0(5). Nick uses a Dunlop Aerogel 2 Hundred with a full bed of Prince Synthetic Gut with DuraFlex.

In a 6.5 Combo District Match, Namchi Le and her partner, playing for Five Seasons, won 6-2, 7-6 at #1 Doubles. Namchi plays with a Babolat Pure Drive with Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour mains and Wilson NXT Tour crosses. In addition to her victory at #1 Doubles, her team won too and qualified for State.

Jeff Conkle from South Regency Tennis Center, playing with his Head Microgel Radical MP with Prince Synthetic Gut with DuraFlex, came up a little short in a 7.5 Combo District Match. However… His team won and is moving on to State.

Inspired Tennis client, Dave Cordrey, is playing very well these days. Coming off a couple of solid 4.0 wins, Dave got a 4.5 win this past Saturday. Swinging his Babolat Aero Storm with Tecnifibre Black Code strings, Dave and his doubles partner, Barney Trapp, got a solid straight set victory in the Dayton, Ohio Men’s 4.5 USTA League. 6-2, 7-6(4).

Inspired Tennis clients, Keith Neargarder and Dave Cordrey, continued their winning ways in the Dayton, Ohio Men’s 4.0 USTA League.

Like last week, Keith, using his Wilson (K) Six.One 95 hybrid of Alu Power Rough mains and Prince Synthetic Gut with DuraFlex crosses, had to go to a super-tiebreaker to pull out the win. 6-4, 4-6, 1-0. With this win, Keith moves to 2-0 for the season – both wins at #2 Singles.

Dave, partnering with a new partner, Pete Gauby, and using his Babolat Aero Storm with Tecnifibre Black Code, cruised to another easy, straight-set win at # Doubles. 6-2, 6-3 With this victory, Dave also moves to 2-0 in this year’s 4.0 league.

Two other Inspired Tennis clients, Keith Neargarder and Dave Cordrey, started the 2011 USTA Season with wins in the Dayton, Ohio Men’s 4.0 league.

At #2 singles, Keith edged out his opponent in the super-tiebreaker – taking home a 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 victory and thus taking his record to 1-0. Keith use a Wilson (K) Six.One 95 with Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Rough Mains (58 lbs.) and Prince Synthetic Gut with DuraFlex crosses (60 lbs.).

At #2 doubles, Dave and his partner stuck it to their opponents by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Dave uses a Babolat Aero Storm with a full bed of Tecnifibre Black Code (58 lbs.).

With the 2011 USTA Season only a couple of weeks old, Inspired Tennis client Nick Ciapetta is off to a great start. In the first two weeks of the season, Nick posted two solid, straight set victories at #2 singles in the Dayton, Ohio Men’s 4.5 league. Nick went undefeated in the Dayton, Ohio 4.0 league last year, and this year, he has picked up right where he left off.

Nick plays with Dunlop Aerogel 2 Hundred racquets with Prince Synthetic Gut with DuraFlex at 65 lbs.

Inspired Tennis clients, Joe Hanna and Nick Ciapetta, were both “bumped” from 4.0 to 4.5 for the upcoming 2011 USTA Season. Last year, Joe compiled a record of 4-1 (3 wins at #1 singles and 1 win at #2 singles), and Nick compiled an impressive record of 9-0 – all at #1 singles!

Congratulations Joe and Nick! Best wishes for successful season at 4.5!

Wife, mother of three, emergency room doctor, and tennis player…   All descriptions of Inspired Tennis client, Namchi Le. Growing up on the outdoor hard courts of Southern California, Namchi and her siblings spent numerous hours playing tennis with each other, and these practice sessions of her youth translated into her being an excellent player as an adult.

Having hit with Namchi on many occasions, I can attest to the facts that she has rock-solid groundstrokes and incredible court coverage – able to run down shot after shot.  Her biggest weapon, in my opinion, is her cross-court forehand – where she can take a short ball and drill it into the corner with pinpoint accuracy.

Namchi currently plays in both a 3.5 USTA league and a 4.0 USTA league.  She is off to a fantastic start in the 2010 USTA season with a combined record of 4-0 in her two leagues.  With her ability, I don’t expect to see too many of her matches end up in the loss column.

Namchi plays with a Babolat Pure Drive and uses the following string setup:

Mains:  Babolat Xcel Power 16G
Mains Tension:  60 lbs.
Crosses:  Babolat Xcel Power 16G
Crosses Tension:  60 lbs.

Babolat Xcel Power, a high-end multifilament string (my favorite multi) provides a great combination of power and touch for Namchi.  Additionally, she sometimes feels the pain of tennis elbow, so the softness of Xcel Power is ideal for her in this regard.

Like Batman and Robin, the doubles team of Cam Woliver and Dave Cordrey are certainly a dynamic duo  (Thankfully though…  Unlike Batman and Robin, I’ve never seen them wear tights on the court.)  Playing in a Men’s 4.0 USTA League in Dayton, Ohio (South Regency Tennis Center), Cam and Dave are off to a 2-0 start in the 2010 USTA season.  With two straight-set victories at #1 doubles, Cam and Dave are definitely on track to compile an exceptional record this season.  Having played against them on several occasions recently, I am predicting no (or very few) losses for them this season.

Cam uses a Babolat Pure Drive with a polyester/synthetic gut hybrid of Tecnifibre Polyspin mains and Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut crosses.  Keeping with the same racquet brand and string brand, Dave uses a Babolat Aero Storm with a full bed of Tecnifibre Black Code.

Inspired Tennis Client, Keith Neargarder, got off to a great start in the 2010 USTA season (Men’s 4.0 League) with a solid 6-4, 6-4 victory over Quail Run Racquet Club’s Cary Browne.  Unfortunately, Keith’s victory at #2 singles wasn’t quite enough to propel his team to victory, but I’m thrilled for Keith.  Great win Man.
