Hey Tom – You’ll definitely want a machine that has six-point mounting and fixed clamps (as opposed to two-point mounting and flying/floating clamps). Most machines in that price range will have these specs. In that price range, you’ll also have the option of getting either a portable/tabletop machine or an upright machine. This is kind of personal preference. Personally, I don’t have a need for a portable machine and thus love my upright. It just depends on your personal situation and where you’ll be stringing. There are many great machines out there, but I tend to direct folks to Mark Gonzalez at Alpha Tennis. http://www.alphatennis.com Check out the following Alpha machines that are in your range… Pioneer DC Plus, Revo 4000, and Axis Pro. Talk to Mark and seek his advice as well. He is a great guy. Be sure to tell him that I sent you his way.
You can also check out some quality Gamma machines at http://www.atssports.com.
Let me know if you have any further questions. Take care.
