I keep telling my daughter I would like to see her play with a vintage racquet, this brought back fond memories.

  2. David Henry says:

Yep… Pretty cool to see those old racquets. I actually still have the junior version of that wooden Dunlop McEnroe racquet that was shown in the video. I don’t know that your daughter would want to play with one as old as the T2000 or a wooden stick. 🙂 Perhaps a classic POG (Prince Original Grpahite) or Wilson Pro Staff would do the trick though. Great sticks – even by today’s standards. I still play with POGs.

    Take care.

  3. James says:

David! Can’t believe you still use the POG! I was using that stick in 1996 and it was old then! Also used the Pro Staff 85 for a while back when I could play. Been using the six one 95 for a while now but must admit I am very keen to get my hands on the new Pro Staff 95. Just come back from Melbourne at the open all ofthe first week. Watched Baghdatis smash what looked like painted Fischers up. Amazing night. Hey have you tried Volkyl Cyclone? I have hit a heapof polys and find this one hard to beat. I manage a big sports store over here so price is not a big issue…crisp, a ton of spin, good tension maintenance and no sore shoulder?
Sorry for long msg…first post. Love the site keep it up.

Hey James – thanks for the comment. Lol – Yeah… I should probably upgrade to a newer stick, but I just still love the way POGs play. Pro Staffs are great sticks as well. I have a couple of clients who still use the old Pro Staff 85, so I get to string ’em up from time to time.

That is awesome that you got to spend some time at the AO last week. I’m sure you had a great time. I logged MANY hours watching in on television over the past two weeks. It was an outstanding tournament. I am a big fan of Federer and Clijsters, so I was kind of disappointed with the outcome – but nevertheless, it was a great tournament.

I haven’t ever played with Volkyl Cyclone. I have strung it once for a client – just never played it. Thanks for the tip on it.

Thanks for the kind words about my site – much appreciated. Take care, my friend.
