Custom-Printed Tennis Balls
By David Henry on Feb 14, 2010 with Comments 0
Having never played Division I college tennis, I don’t know if having custom-printed tennis balls is common practice for college tennis teams, but I do know it is pretty cool.
The Wright State University (my alma mater) men’s and women’s tennis teams practice at the tennis club where I am a member – South Regency Tennis Center – and apparently they bring their own custom-printed tennis balls with them. When picking up balls during my son’s private lesson the other night, I noticed several balls that had the Wright State logo printed on them. Thinking this was pretty neat, I snagged (and by “snagged”, I mean “stole”) a couple of the balls in order to show my kids “Rowdy Raider” on a tennis ball. They loved the balls, so I guess the ends justify the means? (Don’t answer.)
Apparently Wilson must have some sort of custom-printed ball program they offer to college teams. Check out the pics of the WSU ball below.
Thanks for checking in.
