How do you join the professional stringing service

Hey Rehan. Thanks for the comment. If you are asking how to join the United States Racquet Stringers Association, then simply go to their website at http://www.racquettech.com. You’ll pay an annual membership fee of about $109 per year. I wrote a post about the benefits of a USRSA Membership. You can check it out here: http://www.inspired-tennis.com/2010/05/top-3-reasons-to-join-the-usrsa/

If you are asking how to become a tour stringer, that is a little tougher, and I’m not sure I know the answer. Here are my thoughts though… First, it wouldn’t hurt to have your Master Racquet Technician Certification from the USRSA. Secondly, you’ll need a ton of experience, need to be extremely fast – while still doing high-quality work, and need to have some “connections”. The best place to begin making connections is over on the forum of Grand Slam Stringers (www.grandslamstringers.com). Tim Strawn, the guy who runs GSS, is a tour stringer, and many other tour stringers “hang out” over on the GSS Forum.

    Take care.
